A few years ago we bought a small tabletop milling machine, stepper motors and a controller. Our first-class machinist put it all together and... we discovered that our brand new CNC machine didn't work for us! All we wanted to do was to make simple dies for our tiny injection molding machine. Our CNC mill, which was made out of aluminum, couldn't cut steel even at a shallow depth because the machine vibration was too strong. The backlash was inconsistent and impossible to compensate for and the mill always missed vital steps.

We installed larger stepper motors and made many other modifications but we still couldn't make it work.

At that point we decided to make our own CNC milling machine. We used components from different sources. Parts from Chinese sources had to be re-machined because their quality was so poor. We gave up on stepper motion control and developed our own servo system, which now never skips steps.

The final CNC machine was much better than any CNC machine available on the market. We made several for our own needs and a few for friends and associates and they were such a huge success that we decided to sell them to customers worldwide.

Thus, Town Laboratories, TownLabs, Inc was born.

The demand for our machines was high. We sold several hundred CNC mills in various designs to engineers, dentists, military personnel and the government. Our group consists of electronic and mechanical engineers and top notch machinists. Each machine is extensively tested prior to shipping. All manufacturing, assembly, and testing is done in the USA. We provide constant support for our customers in timely and friendly manner.
